ATT Annual Awards 2025

A fantastic night of celebration was had by all at the ATT Awards evening on Thursday 27 March held in Mission Bay, Auckland.

The night was full of encouragement and achievement as we celebrated the successes of our apprentices and host businesses at this significant annual event. Sixteen awards were given out on the night, recognising excellence, perseverance, improvement and contribution amongst our apprentices and host businesses. We also acknowledged and celebrated all our 2024 graduates.

The premier apprentice award was presented to an apprentice who is the best allrounder, having excelled in all areas. This year, the James Merrill Memorial Apprentice of the Year Award, sponsored by ToolWare, was awarded to recently completed plumbing and drainlaying apprentice, Aidan Davidson-Greene from Bassett Plumbing & Drainage Ltd.

Aidan was described by his host business as “one of our star apprentices, he continues to impress and did so throughout his whole apprenticeship. He is hard to fault, and we get nothing but compliments about him. He works hard onsite, knows what he’s doing and is committed to his job.” During his apprenticeship, Aidan flew through his block courses with ease and remained consistently up to date on his paperwork. Onsite he can carry out any task thrown at him and helps organise the daily running of the site he is on. He is a great role model for the younger apprentices coming through to aspire to.

The Host Business of the Year Award, sponsored by the IntoWork Group, was awarded to Jeffries Plumbing Ltd. This host business has been an extremely loyal supporter of ATT for over 25 years. All three owners of the business did their apprenticeship through ATT. They place all their apprentices through ATT, even their sons, as they really see the value in the apprenticeship model. Their apprentices become work family and have great opportunities to move between maintenance and new build work, learning and developing a wide range of skills.
