Get help. Just for the job. Trade labour hire for New Zealand businesses, no long-term commitment, no employment hassle.
About this service
Casual Trade Assistants gives trade businesses access to vetted, work-ready labour on a flexible basis. Whether you need cover for a busy period, a large project, or an unexpected staff absence, ATT can connect you with reliable casuals quickly.
All ATT casuals are pre-screened for trade-site readiness, they arrive with the right attitude, safety awareness, and a willingness to work hard under your supervision.
This service is ideal for businesses that need capacity without the commitment of a permanent hire. It suits people who don’t have time to source and vet workers themselves.

Value comparison
A quick side-by-side view of how this service compares with managing the process yourself.
“We had a time critical need to increase staff for a new contract with a major client. With ATT, we were able to source multiple high-calibre candidates, with minimal fuss and at a competitive rate.”
Common questions
Pre-trade trained workers across a range of trades. Every worker is screened before we place them with you.
ATT is the legal employer. We handle payroll, ACC, HR and health and safety, so there’s no employment risk on your end. Casual Trade Assistants aren’t apprentices, they’re there to help get the work done, not to complete a qualification.
Very. You can scale up or down as your workload changes, with nothing locking you in beyond the three week minimum placement.
It gives both you and the worker enough time to settle into the job properly. Long enough to be worthwhile, without tying you into anything longer than you need.
If the fit’s right, we can talk about moving them into an apprenticeship. Just let your ATT contact know and we’ll sort the next steps.
Call your ATT contact and we’ll sort it quickly, including replacing the worker if needed.
Casual Trade Assistants are paid at least the minimum adult wage. The hourly rate you’re charged is higher than this, since it also covers ATT as the employer, payroll, and compliance. There’s no training wage here, that only applies to apprentices, and Casual Trade Assistants aren’t apprentices.
