You employ them. We support them. Apprentice management support for New Zealand trade businesses.
About this service
Managed Apprenticeships is for businesses that want to employ their apprentice directly, but still want ATT’s support to keep training and pastoral care on track.
Think of us as backup for the parts of an apprenticeship that pull you away from the tools. We stay on top of training progress by keeping in regular contact with your apprentice.
This works well if you’ve already got someone in the business you want to upskill, or you just want to keep the employment relationship simple without wrestling with the apprenticeship system on your own.
The process
We talk through your apprentice's situation and where you need support.
We agree a managed services agreement, so it's clear what ATT looks after and what stays with you.
We check in regularly with you and your apprentice to see how things are tracking.
We stay on top of training progress by keeping in regular contact with your apprentice.
Your apprentice keeps progressing until they qualify.
What ATT supports
Managed Apprenticeship is charged as a fixed annual fee, invoiced on a weekly basis.
Contact us for current pricing. Fee structures may vary by trade and apprentice year level.
Why choose this
Your apprentice is already working in your business, not learning your systems from scratch after they qualify.
ATT is already across the training and pastoral care, so a struggling apprentice doesn't become solely your problem.
You get ATT's support without it turning into a second job on top of running yours.
ATT knows the apprenticeship system inside out, you don't have to.
Value comparison
A quick side-by-side view of how this service compares with managing the process yourself.
Note: your employment relationship with your apprentice is the same either way. This comparison is about the support you get around it, not who’s the employer.
“The managed apprenticeship service takes all the admin off our plate so we can focus on the job. ATT's coordinator knows our apprentice personally – it makes a real difference.”
Common questions
It’s where you employ your apprentice directly, and ATT supports you through the training side, check-ins, and pastoral care so they stay on track to qualify.
With Group Apprenticeship, ATT employs the apprentice and you provide the on-the-job training. With Managed Apprenticeships, you’re the employer and ATT supports the training and pastoral care side
You are. The apprentice is on your books, your payroll, your responsibility.
We manage the training plan, liaise with the training provider, run regular check-ins, and provide pastoral care to help your apprentice stay on track.
The training provider delivers the qualification, the coursework and assessments. ATT sits alongside that, checking in regularly with your apprentice and keeping things moving day to day so they don’t fall behind and providing the apprentice support when they need it.
You pay a fixed annual fee, invoiced on a weekly basis, so managing outgoings is easy and predictable.
